The 2022 season hasn’t been sailing the way Lewis Hamilton wanted. He’s far from the fight for the title and is struggling with the W13’s porpoising. Amid all this, it is his off-track activities, like skydiving, that are keeping him motivated for this challenging season.

It is not unknown to F1 fans that Lewis Hamilton is a thrill seeker. And whenever he gets time, he travels or takes part in adventure sports. Hamilton is a fan of skydiving and surfing. After the Australian GP this season, the Brit went surfing along with his young teammate George Russell and even went skydiving with his physiotherapist before the Melbourne race.

Hamilton believes falling from such a height helps him fight fear. His off-track adventures might very well be the reason Lewis is still motivated enough to fight for a championship despite being in the 16th season of his career.
Hamilton said, “I love the freedom of it. The freedom of falling and just letting go of any fear that you have and then just living.” When asked how many jumps he has done, Hamilton replied, “This is like around 80.”
Lewis Hamilton wants Mercedes at the front
The Silver Arrows are having a turbulent season, and they still haven’t had a front-row start even after four races. Lewis, for now, is struggling to even finish in the top 10. He had the worst time recently, finishing P13 at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, while his teammate Russell finished P4.
Further, the weekend got harder for Lewis when Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, Hamilton’s rival for the 2021 title, lapped him. After the race, team principal Toto apologized to Lewis for providing him with an ‘undrivable’ car.

After returning to Brackley, the F1 team had discussions to resolve the issues this season. Toto shared he saw the passion in his drivers to get the German constructors back to the front.
Toto said, “So I see no difference in that determination and passion for sorting this out and for getting ourselves back into the game to fight for races and winning championships.”
